I&E Project Estimator/Coordinator


This position will prepare electrical costs estimates for manufacturing, construction projects, or engineering services to aid management in bidding on or determining price of construction or service. Continually participate in ongoing efforts to enhance customer satisfaction, company profit and personal job mastery. All jobs shall be conducted in a safe, efficient and professional manner.
Essential Duties
Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments or construction supervision to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
Analyze blueprints, construction drawings and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates
Prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors
Confer with engineers, designers, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates
Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work
Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project
Assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services, tracking actual costs relative to bids as the project develops
Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures
Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or to effect cost reduction
Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to construct or sub-contract components
Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors
Establish and maintain tendering process, and conduct negotiations
Increase job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading technical and regulation publications, as applicable.
Perform any other duties or assignments as BHI Management deems necessary.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Construction Management.
Experience: Two years of equivalent recent experience in a similar role.
Licenses/Certifications: Valid Driver's License.
Skills/Equipment: Able to communicate effectively (i.e. reading, writing, speaking) in the English language.

Additional:
Working knowledge of Viewpoint and MEP Estimating software
Possess a safe driving record.
Able to obtain a DOT Medical card and keep it current throughout employment; if operating BHI fleet/equipment.
Able to comply with/pass the BHI 'Fit for Duty' Program.
Competent documentation skills.
Working Conditions
Working conditions are an indoor office setting which involves use of PC/Keyboard for long periods of time and may require long periods of sitting.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
