Energy Services Instructor

Schedule: Monday through Friday 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. 12/month position
Primary Customers: UBTech Students, Industry and Community
Supervision Exercised: College students and Instructional Assistants
Reports To: Departmental Director
Job Focus: Supports the College Mission and serves students, employers and the college community by preparing and providing relevant technical instruction. Under general supervision, prepares relevant curriculum for competency based instruction in an open-entry/open-exit or lecture environment for Energy Services; specifically in Automation, Oil and Gas Technician, and other related programs. Maintains a positive and productive learning environment by working collaboratively with students, staff, and college partners.

Minimum Qualifications:
Successful Background Check
Valid Driver's License
Recognized Industry Credentials
Experience in drilling production and completion
Basic electrical background
Understanding of networking and remote operating systems
Knowledge of sensors, flow meters, and pressure systems.
Essential Duties and Performance Standards:
Encourage growth through industry connectivity
Prepare relevant curriculum for competency based instruction
Develop and maintain current program and course outlines, goals and objectives
Align class curriculum with industry standards
Administer Utah State Board of Education skills tests when teaching secondary students
Actively assist in accreditation processes
Advise, evaluate, and record student progress
Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in respective industry
Maintain certifications, licensures and accreditation standards for program area
Assist with student recruitment, retention and job placement efforts
Create, support, and maintain an active Occupational Advisory Committee and industry partnerships
Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training area
Foster a productive learning and training environment
Encourage and exemplify professionalism and good work habits
Request and maintain supplies and equipment inventories
Propose required budget and purchase requests; follow purchasing guidelines
Prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports
Performs other related duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience: Minimum of a High School Diploma or its equivalent; excellent record of work based performance, related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of or be willing to learn UBTech information technology processes.
Certifications and Licensures: Must hold related industry certifications and or licensures and meet College accreditation requirements.
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Must have open, positive communication skills with the ability to foster a productive learning environment. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from students, supervisors, partners, and the general public.
Work Environment: Incumbent of the position performs in a typical classroom/office setting with appropriate climate controls. Tasks require variety of physical activities, not generally involving muscular strain, but do require frequent walking, standing, stooping, sitting, reaching, talking, hearing and seeing. Common eye, hand, finger dexterity required for many tasks. Mental application utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability and critical thinking.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
