Instructional Assistant-Automotive

Job Focus: Under close supervision, assists an instructor/teacher with providing comprehensive functional training and/or program to consumers/students. Prepares instructional materials and maintains order and cleanliness in the learning environment. Generally assists instructor by correcting students assignments, answering basic student questions, demonstrating basic program skills, preparing curriculum as directed and recording student progress data. Instructional Assistants may serve on committees.
Schedule: 25-29 hours a week

Minimum Qualifications:
Proficient in Word Processing, Outlook, Excel
Demonstrated ability to maintain excellent customer relations
Automotive background strongly desired
Must successfully pass criminal background check
Valid driver's license

Responsibilities and Tasks:
Assist instructor in maintaining a safe and effective learning environment
Assist with instruction as needed
Provide appropriate, functional technical skill demonstrations for assigned students
Assist students with meeting and maintaining curriculum competencies
Complete and record student progress
Supervise computer based testing
Obtain and prepare instructional materials and teaching aids for instructor and students
Maintain confidentiality of information and follow policy regarding the release of information
Attend all institutional activities, functions, events and meetings as appropriate
Actively participate with the accreditation process
Other duties as assigned

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
