MAJOR DUTIES Performs preparatory work for timber cruises, such as traversing and mapping units to be cruised; estimates volumes and quality of timber during cruises using established quality standards; measures diameters, heights, limited defects, etc.; summarizes and reports data collected as to type, grade, species, size, etc.; describes general conditions found, including possible logging difficulties; and helps to prepare timber sale maps. Marks timber using well defined marking rules, established marking guides, and specific instructions. Determines merchantable volume by use of prescribed volume tables, techniques, and specific instructions. As assigned, performs resource work in other areas such as inspecting reforestation contracts, fighting fire, or burning slash. Serves as leader of a crew consisting of three or more employees including at least one GS-4. Orients new crew members and provides on-the-job instructions and guidance; distributes and balances workload among crew members, keeping in touch with the status and progress of work and making indicated adjustments; keeps time and approves minor or emergency leave, and amends or rejects work not meeting established standards. Resolves informal complaints, reports on performance of employees, and suggests awards. Performs other duties as assigned. You must possess the Basic Requirements identified below to be considered eligible for this position. Transcripts must be provided for qualifications based on education. (1) one year of specialize experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level. Specialized Experience is defined as:
Performs hydrologic technician work such as, preparing, analyzing, charting, annotating forms, and completing hydrographs; assists in the performance of a variety of hydrology tasks such as conducting, monitoring, coordinating, and controlling various phases of data collection and analysis projects or operations. -OR Successful completion of 1 year of graduate level education directly related to the work of the position, that includes courses in Hydrology, groundwater, Geology, Soil Science, Geomorphology, Geophysics, Hydrological Engineering or, other directly related field is an acceptable substitute for specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 level or below. This level of education should provide the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the work typical of this position-OR A combination of education and experience listed above. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
